The Story of Yoda~A Fairy Tale...?

Once upon a time, in a land far, far away, there was a kingdom that no human had ever entered. Always at war with the kingdom of Man, this kingdom thrived in spite of its opposition.

Officially, this kingdom was called Kingdom Animalia Chordata Rodentia.

If you are up on your Latin, you will recognize one of the words as rodent.

Yes, this is one of those kinds of posts.

I will not be offended if you need to change the channel so to speak, but just know, I am living this fairy tale. And if you know anything at all about fairy tales, the originals are always worse than their movie counterparts.

Always. But I digress...

One beautiful, sunny morning in May, the Queen of Mice delivered her future heirs to the throne in the stillness of the Mouse Forest. (Otherwise known as the Human Garden.) There were 3. The key word being were, so we're not going to discuss the eventual whereabouts of the other two, only the hero of our story, Yoda.

Poor little Yoda was orphaned when the Queen headed off into parts unknown. (Actually, the King of the human castle may have played a role in her disappearance, investigation is still on-going.) While little Yoda was crawling around, blinding searching for the mother that would never hold him, a charming, yet very naive little Farmer Prince noticed him. (This same Farmer Prince also declared that Yoda was of the male persuasion just because "there are enough girls in this house".)

"Oh little mouse", said he, "I will take you home and love you forever, just as long as the Queen of my castle doesn't find out."

Little did the Farmer Prince know that Yoda was probably not long for this earth. Unable to open his eyes and with no source of nutrition, the odds were stacked against him. So the Farmer Prince did the only thing he could think of.

He summoned the Queen.

I will spare you the details of the Queen shrieking and hopping about, as it was not one of her finer moments. But even the Queen has a heart.

"Gather some fine bedding and prepare a feast fit for this little rodent Prince!" said the Queen.

The finest lint was dug out of the utility garbage can to wrap the little Prince in.

Some raw cream was mixed with warm water and fed to the Prince through a pipette meant for biology experiments.

Coincidence? I don't think so.

And as Yoda settled in for his afternoon nap, a little prayer was said for his survival.

Even though if he makes it, his destiny is not one of fairy tale endings.

But maybe, just maybe, they will all live happily ever after.
